Social Media Video Making Workshop for Post-Growers

Social Media Video Making Workshop for Post-Growers

25.09.2026 – 27.09.2026

Tartu

The desire to reach a wider audience with relevant short videos on political topics through social media led to the idea of involving other interested partners and partners who are committed to the mission of sustainable development in this process. In September 2026, an international training "Social Media Video Making Workshop for Post-Growers" will take place in Tartu in cooperation with Norwegian and Danish sustainable development organizations (Gemini Centre for Post-Growth Futures, Degrowth Copenhagen), which will result in a selection of various well-thought-out science-based information clips that can be used to spread a sustainable worldview.

Objectives of the project:

  • To provide digital storytelling skills and technical knowledge to help post-growth activists and academics communicate on complex social issues in a short video format.

  • To diversify the social media landscape with science-based messages on post-growth and sustainability issues, as a counterbalance to the populist rhetoric.

  • To popularise scientific views on sustainability, environmental and social issues and their root causes among young people and the wider public.

  • To promote post-growth cooperation between academia and interest groups across Nordic and Baltic regions.
